Cherish those around you. Cherish the moments. Cherish the fact that you have the ability to breath, to think with a sound mind, to walk, to talk, to smile, to laugh. Life is so precious and it became so evident this month. A high school friend, who I haven't seen or spoken to in years had a fatal car accident earlier this month and leaves behind so many loved ones and a newborn. And even today, a patient came in with poor prognosis in her pregnancy and ended up losing her child. I bet in both instances, these individuals did not plan on the day turning out the way it did. It's heart wrenching and hard breaking when we think about loss. So what better way to fight back with a heart of gratitude as we cherish the moments we are fortunate to have?
This past weekend I had a get time cherishing everything and everyone around me. Thanksgiving was such a blessing to me this year. I got to take time off work and go back home to Georgia and visit family. My two sisters celebrated great milestones. My big sister dedicated her firstborn child to the Lord. Her testimony of how her son battled death and remained in the hospital for 62 days after being born early is just such a testament of the power of God. I will share more of her story in an interview series I will start up soon. My little sister had her bridal shower for her upcoming wedding Dec 28th and 29th.
I am just so in awe of the power of God and how He care for us so well. My heart was so full this weekend. But, I did battle briefly with feeling behind considering my sisters are expanding their families and I'm still here... solo dolo 😕. But what I know is that God never withholds any good from those who walk uprightly! So I will continue to trust in His plan for my life.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Psalm 84: 11
Continue to trust in the Lord in whatever season you may be in. God makes everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Take in a deep breath and breath in the moments that you cherish and that bring joy to your heart. Breath out and exhale all the negativity.
I pray you have a blessed rest of the week.
XOXO,
Jenn
