God has a specific and perfect plan just for you! Stop checking for Suzy and focus on what God is doing in you. I remember I was watching a track meet during Olympics try outs back in high school and there was a runner who was very, very good. This runner was in the lead. But half way through the race, this runner looked to see where the opponents were. And during that split second of wondering what others were doing, this runner that was in the lead ended up with two runners in front of him and he lost his first place position. Just like that; in the blink of an eye.
So often, we are worried about what other people are doing. We are so in awe of "how ahead" they are in life or how perfect their marriage or relationship looks. Meanwhile these people may be at home fighting like dogs for all we know. Or sometimes, we know what God has spoken to us, but we are very concerned with what people would think or how it would look to them that we ended up not doing the will of God.
Stop focusing on others and let God do his magic in your life. God has an amazing amazing plan for you. It's so big! It's so great! It will bless your life abundantly! And most important it will bring blessing, deliverance, and inspiration for others to also live out their authentic, unique God given purpose!
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11
I use to be so insecure and frankly envious of happiness I saw in people. I desired marriage (and I still do, but from a healthy place) and I remember when someone would get engaged I would say in my head "well, they are probably not living for God anyone" or "their marriage won't last" or "they aren't really as happy as they claim to be."
What's the point in being negative about someone else's blessing. Smh. It all came out of a place of not thinking that God could bless me in the same way, so I had to hate on others. It was not until I started to love me for me, give God my insecurities and issues, and let Him love me and make me whole did I become more content with me right where I am! And in that place of contentment is actually where God can bless you. Because He knows once you receive the blessing, you won't start worshiping the blessing rather than the blesser.
Desiring what other's having rather than focusing on what amazing things God wants to do in your life can literally be the death of you. Check this passage in the Bible.
Exodus 14: 21-30 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He [d]troubled the army of the Egyptians. And He [e]took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew[f] the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained. But the children of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.So the Lord saved[g] Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
The same Red Sea that parted to save the Israelites from their bondage was the same Red Sea that drowned the Egyptians. Don't focus so much on others or try and follow in their path that you completely miss God's plan for your life.
This 2019, let's spend time with God and let Him speak to us about who we are, what specific plans He has for our lives and let's rest in contentment knowing that God who is a Good Good Father will not without any good thing from you. He wants the absolute best for you! That I know.
God loves you like crazy. He is so madly in love with you! Remember that!
XOXO,
Jenn
